Filename Standards[edit]

There are two files created for each tileset. The first is the tileset image, a 512x512 pixel PNG image file located in img/tilesets. The second is the tileset definition file (TDF), a Lua file located in dat/tilesets. The name of the two files should match, except for the file extension. For example, if we were creating a tileset for a desert village, we would might call our filenames: desert_village.png and desert_village.lua.

Creating the Tileset Image[edit]

Creating the Tileset Definition File[edit]

The TDF should only be created after the tileset image has been created and is more or less "stable", meaning that you don't expect to move around any existing tiles in the tileset image. Adding new tiles to an existing tileset image is perfectly okay though.
