An HoA hiatus!

Post by visage » Sat Dec 10, 2005 6:24 pm

I took a little week hiatus from HoA development to clear up my head from some issues I have been having lately, and to jump start myself back into coding, I took part in the 3 hour game competition on gamedev.net.

The theme was "CARTS" -- so I decided to make a christmas shopping game.

Obvious inspiration from:

Here is what I came up with. (note, I finished a half hour late, so disqualified).
I would highly recommend using "appletviewer" on example1.html instead of opening it with a web browser.  Should run much smoother.

Also, Java 1.5 is required.

To begin, hit space.  The game is fairly simple: press "j" to jump over other customers and collect as many gifts as possible.  My best score is around 2600 I think (26 gifts).

Back to HoA work!

EDIT: Game had a bug.  Should be fixed, and run fine now.

Moved topic to game developers, since its....well, a game. :)

I would give it a shot but currently I don't have java setup properly on my system. Plus it's finals week man! I think that people are studying right now... :uhoh:
