Re: We have a bizarre 404

It has to do with drupal installation, which catches everything that does not directly link to a page.

I will try to make it staff.allacrost.org which should no longer cause that problem

Re: building in vs2008

If we were to standardize on one platform, I would say gcc/make/autotools, rather than codeblocks. Most of us have been using that anyway, and it is available for all platforms. Platform is on what you release (Vista, OSx, Linux), you most likely mean "development tools" (VS2005, VS2008, ...

Re: building in vs2008

Maybe we should look for a way to make the development of allacrost the same on all platforms. Like using code-blocks or something.

The compile problem (HOA_MAP::Debug-something-something) is because the vcproj is missing files. If we all would use the same tool it would be so much simpler.

Re: building in vs2008

Ok, I finished double checking. Both Boost as lua_bind don't work on vs 2008. Lua_bind clearly says so in the document. Boost Note: including file: C:\Dep\luabind\include\luabind/luabind.hpp Note: including file: C:\Dep\luabind\include\luabind/config.hpp Note: including file: C:\Dep\boost\boost/conf...

Re: building in vs2008

@Wiinis: I haven't updated my dependecies and it works fine for me. @Verman: You don't have to worry about dll's until you can actually start the game. Both the lua bind and the jpeg problem are related to libaries. The "bool hoa_map::MAP_DEBUG" is a programming error. I think you still ha...

Re: Operation: Map Mode

I have read it and its similiar to the system I proposed. However there are some differences between two systems. Also events is a a bad name as it suggest anything at an instance of time or over a period of time. The entire gameloop can be described as an event and that is / should not be the goal....

Re: building in vs2008

If it still doesn't work then double check if you have the paths are setup correct and that all libaries can be found (The second time I did this I made this mistake) and also check if the correct dependecies (the correct version) are used. If you still have problems please post the entire output of...

Re: Operation: Map Mode

Overengineerd. It can be so much simpler. Just create a MessageSystem, messages can be added and they have tick function which requires delta time and they have a function that tells the MessageSystem this message can be deleted. When a event is triggered (like a NPC wants to go through a door) you ...

Re: Fix the website already!!!

The reason that I renamed it was because the site took took over that page. (made a thank you page in drupal, which would be visible when applythanks.php was requested) Since the page only contained Thank you for contacting us with your application. We will get back to you soon with more information...

Re: building in vs2008

Same here! you are right ElonNarai, however I followed the instructions on setting up the VS 2005 solution (but using VS 2008) and I've got an unresolved external problem (something about Luabind_d.dll). Dammit, I think I won't bother and will install a Virtual Machine + SuSE and see how it goes. D...

Re: Bug - pixel doubling?/resizing

AFAIK Mac systems use the same nVidia/ATI graphics cards that go in PCs. If I'm right there, then there can't be a difference in hardware implementation. Now there might be a difference in the graphics drivers that nVidia/ATI writes for OS X, -or- it might be Apple's implementation of the OpenGL AP...

Re: building in vs2008

I have been working with visual studio for seven years. I have used VS 6.0, VS.NET 2002, VS.NET 2003, VS.NET 2005 and VS.Net 2008. I even had to work with Visual C++ 5.0 once (was on a school pc) but that was only once and never more than once. If there is one thing I do know is that the steps in se...

Re: Forums/bug tracker/other e-mail woes

Moving forward we can merely advise that your PHP Scripts be configured to send messages through SMTP Authentication. Yeah, thanks! php_mail is perfectly safe and they should go after the people who abuse it. Anyway. It seems that drupal has a module for that, so I guess we can fix at least somethi...

Re: Bug - pixel doubling?/resizing

No, if it's working on windows and on linux then it has to do something with osx. You right, I'm sorry.

However in that case I think it has to do with the hardware implementation of OpenGL in which case we can do nothing.

Re: Bug - pixel doubling?/resizing

I think writing a separate application just to test this issue is a rather crazy proposal. That's a whole lot of work. I think its better if we just focus on the game side of the problem right now, because that's the issue that needs to be fixed. If the editor has a problem we can deal with it at a...

Re: Bug - pixel doubling?/resizing

@Gorzuate: Is it not easier to create another application and check if the same problem occurs their?
If the new application doesn't have the problem we have something that we can compare it to. Otherwise we will be just suggesting solustions without knowing if we can fix it.

Re: building in vs2008

This is more of an efficiency issue for me, but now after being able to build it through release, building through debug still doesn't work. It compiles fine but when I try to run it it generates an error... Unable to start program .... This application has failed to start because the application c...

Re: Bug - pixel doubling?/resizing

Ok, that is wierd. I have this in the editor: http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o209/ElonNarai/HoA/editor_issue01.png It's similair but not the same. I'm really intruged why in your case the the "bald spot" is offset each quad while in my case it's always in the center. It looks almost as...
