Re: Lets talk about screen resolution

Hey, good to see you back here :) Screen Resolution was one of the first things I thought could be changed when I started trying out this game back in the day, though now I don't mind it really. It gives the game a nice touch, having a 4:3 display, but if we have the time, we should definitely make ...

Re: 0.1.0 Release Maps and Scripting

That's a nice idea. Though, it shouldn't feel like a linear map, at least in the official release. I think it's a big plus if the player can walk inside the town/castle and maybe can experience the stories/problems of other people in the city. That would make the whole thing very lively, but of cour...

Re: Quick Programming Q & A

Alright, that's exactly what I had in mind when I thought about the transition. Still have to figure out how to actually do it ^^ Don't expect anything from me the next weeks, since I am having exams, soon. After that, I'll be working hard on the script, so we can have some progress again ;) Would b...

Re: Quick Programming Q & A

hmm, do you want me to delete the multiple occurrences of those functions in afthermath.lua and write those only once in sand docks or keep it the way we have it in aftermath? other question: how do I change the GameMode on a specific event? My idea was to have a guard at the end of the port to be t...

Re: Quick Programming Q & A

Currently writing the scripts in a01_sand_dock_departure.lua and wondering, why there are functions multiple times in a01.harrvah_capital_aftermath.lua.
i.e. function Draw() is once in line 130 and in line 952. Is there a specific reason for that?

Re: 0.1.0 Release Maps and Scripting

Since I didn't made a lot of progress with my current work, I will hook up on the map scripting. Did anyone else started already on this, so we are not colliding with the work ?

Re: 0.1.0 Release Maps and Scripting

Cool thing :approve: definitely would love to start with that, but I first want to finish my current work (and since college started again, I am a bit busy with that, too :ohnoes: ). When I am done with my assignment, I will try to hook on your work, though. (the very latest date would be end of Febr...

Re: Day/night time and lighting change idea

Without knowing if this topic has been discussed further, I wouldn't recommend the rest until solution, since then you force the player to wait until he can enter a specific area. (at least that is how I understood it)

Is there progress on this or did we throw the idea away ?

Re: Quick Programming Q & A

*To the problem with the breakpoints: I don't think it's a problem of the debugger since when I tried to set a breakpoint in another project it worked perfectly. Anyway, since I want to finish the issue I am working on, following question/ inquiry: (for those who don't know the issue: When reassigni...

Re: Quick Programming Q & A

What exactly do you mean with attach? Sorry, I'm not that much in the matter :D *edit: When I debug allacrost I go into the key settings menu and press an unmapped key. When using F1 to leave the help menu (btw, what is it called in the code? _welcome_window?), the game crashes and I get the error I...

Re: Mercurial Repository Management

Yeah, it was in My Documents ... What is the purpose of this file? I mean, it exists in the game folder, so why create another instance of it ?

PS: now it works how it should, thanks :)

Re: Mercurial Repository Management

2) I have got the problem with the unmapped key, but I can't find the .allacrost/profiles/settings.lua on Windows. Anyone has an idea where this is? What does it anyway? (hope this is not the wrong topic xD)

Re: Quick Programming Q & A

Thanks, I'll try that out :) @Roots: yeah, since I haven't developed any of these lines, I'm pretty confused sometimes what happens there^^ I like to look around and follow the code to learn how it works. Basically I know what to do, but I have some problems with finding the right place to insert. T...

Re: Quick Programming Q & A

Let's make it short here: -Any way to stop your code at a specific location ? if (variable == true) { //stop do_that; } -in input.h there is this list of functions(?). Where exactly are the buttons defined, which activate them? (see input.h line 588 to 605) /** \name Input Press Members *** \brief R...

Re: [Windows] Tons of errors while building first time

How can I compile everything but the editor? When trying to build he wants to compile the editor, too.
I'll try a bit around, maybe I can get it working ^^

Re: [Windows] Tons of errors while building first time

I've encountered another error while building. C:\Users\Lordakius\Desktop\allacrost\game\src\editor\dialogs.cpp:17:18: fatal error: QDebug: No such file or directory #include <QDebug> Sadly, I have no idea how the error occurs. I have searched a bit and found the Qt Framework, which we are obviously...

Re: [Windows] Tons of errors while building first time

I actually got it working. Seems like I were missing some things from MinGW. I downloaded Code:Blocks with mingw installer this time and set the compiler on the gcc in that folder and now it builds properly :) If anyone faces the same errors: (not able to compile any c++ files/allacrost via Code:blo...

[Windows] Tons of errors while building first time

Trying to compile Allacrost with Code:Blocks under Windows got me a ton of errors (literally) :bang: . The first 50 errors (compiler only shows 50) are either /"..." not declared/ or /"..." does not name a type/ ones. http://www.youscreen.de/hlvzvzhmz01.jpg (Sorry for the German ...

Re: READ THIS if you want to build from source on Windows!

Yeah, as I thought, it seems like a bunch of work there. Maybe I will do that just that we have it, but I'll go with Code::Blocks for now, so I may do some direct work first :)
